Happy 10th Birthday!!!!!

Our oldest son turned double digits yesterday! Yes, this is birthday season at our house. And double digits is a pretty unique one! After all, he'll be double digits now until he reaches 100! This year it is his turn for a friend party, which will happen in a couple weeks. But on G's actual birthday, we gave him one of his presents at the breakfast table before leaving for church.

Opening......

......his new Bible! A nice leather one with his name engraved on the front. And a Bible cover. He was so pleased to use it in church that morning!

My four boys in their matching shirts. Fyi, the two in the back are roommates and the two in the front are roommates. They like to play "twins". (this pic is especially for my friend Beth who passed the matching shirts on to us!)

Here we are at 10:44 PM. Our children love to celebrate their birth minute. :-)

We love you G! We are so blessed that God gave you to our family. You are a special and unique boy and we are very proud of you!

Sweet post and pictures. I love the new bible! My daughter is turning 11 this month, and she is getting her first "nice" bible with her name engraved on it too. :)

Thanks for your blog,
Adrienne from Theologicalkids.com

i love that cake! how did you do it - just cut it out by hand??

if R chooses a cake for this weekend i want to do it for him - although a "5" might be tricky.

last i heard he was leaning toward brownie sundaes instead of a cake.

votemom: yes, I just cut it out by hand. I baked a rectangular cake and then cut out the numbers after it had cooled. The extra fun part was that we had all the edges leftover for the kids to eat for dessert last night!

thanks pam!

R has chosen brownie sundaes this year, but i definitely want to do the cut-out cake another time.

I love the idea of celebrating their birthminutes! With Michelle, that'd be no problem since she was born around 5:45 p.m. Steven, though, was born about the same time, but in the a.m. Maybe we could celebrate birthminute plus 12 hours :)

I tell my son that I can celebrate his birth minute by waking him up at 1:15am. He says no. I tell him I can call him at that time and wish him an official happy birthday when he moves away. He says no. Happy Birthday to all your kids! Are more coming?
Blessings,
Laurie

Rebekah, yes we have that problem too with Little Man! He was born at 5:30 a.m. and I am NOT waking him up to celebrate at that time.....at least not until he's older and I'm younger. ;-)

Laurie: Yes, we have 2 more birthdays coming up (one in about 10 days and the next one month after that). Our first four children were all born in the spring so Little Man is our only anomoly ~ his birthday is in Dec.
